Avenues of Service

The administration of the Rotary Club of Abilene is focus group (committee) structured - meaning that every member serves on a focus group and these groups plan and implement the planned activities of the club. The board is charged with overseeing these avenues of service. Focus groups submit a report to the board at the beginning of each Rotary year which is reviewed and approved by the board. These become the goals and objectives for the year. We implement the Object of Rotary through the four Avenues of Service - Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service & International Service - plus Membership Development, The Rotary Foundation and Fundraising.

  • Club Service A
Social Activities & Club Promotion - Focus groups under this Avenue of Service have the responsibility of attendance/visitation, public relations and the club's social activities involving the family of Rotarians.
  • Club Service B
Meeting Arrangements - Focus groups under this Avenue of Service have the responsibility of making the weekly club meetings run smoothly.
  • Vocational Service
Focus groups under this Avenue of Service administer the club's participation in vocational type activities.
  • Community Service
Focus groups under this Avenue of Service administer the club's participation in projects which benefit our local community.
  • International Service
Focus groups under this Avenue of Service administer the club's participation in projects which benefit the larger community, the international community.
  • Membership Development
Focus groups in this area are responsible for promoting membership through various campaigns and information meetings.
  • The Rotary Foundation
Focus groups in this area are responsible for promoting member participation in becoming Paul Harris Fellows and the other programs of The Rotary Foundation.
  • Fundraising
Focus groups in this area are responsible for administering the various fundraising events approved by the board. Funds raised are used for club projects and community and international service grants.

Each area of service has a director in charge of those activities.
